Southern Tier Associated Boards of Basketball Officials dedicate the 18-19 Officials Handbook

Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, Bob Conway, on being recognized by the Southern Tier Associated Boards of Basketball Officials as they have dedicated their 2018-2019 Handbook to him! Congratulations Coach Conway!

What would you call someone cherished by his players, respected by his peers, highly regarded by officials and treasured in his community?  You would call him Bob Conway.

The Southern Tier Associated Boards of Basketball Officials Dedicate their 2018-2019 Handbook to Bob Conway.

The Mount–Upton graduate has been coaching basketball for 36 years and has the most wins in Chenango County history with over 500. Bob was 1-21 in his first year at Mt. Upton and in three years was in the NYS class D championship game.

Bob became the Bainbridge-Guilford varsity girls’ coach in 1991 and has accumulated eight Mid-State Athletic Conference titles, including the lost four, two Section IV Class C titles and one Class C2 title. Bob took the Bainbridge girls to the NYS Championship game in 1999. Bob has had eight 1,000 Point scorers during his tenure as coach. Bob was inducted into the Section IV Hall of Fame in 2015.

With Eleven “Coach of the Year” honors Bob has great knowledge of the game and a meticulous note taker Bob does an excellent job scouting and has his team prepared for all opponents. Quick to recognize his players on and off the court Bob also demands excellence in the classroom. Bob invests much time to B-G basketball as he is also involved in all aspects with the JV, Modified, AAU and youth programs and coaches a team in our own Stars & Stripes Showcase.

As a thirty year employee at Amphenol, Bob is in a management position.

Don’t let Bob’s low-key demeanor fool you as he is the driving force behind Bainbridge-Guilford Girls’ Basketball Juggernaut. His teams play with great intensity and discipline and his players credit him for instilling a great work ethic along with the concept of teamwork. Not one to take credit for his accomplishments we salute Bob Conway for a job well done and for making everything around him better.
