Mrs Carlin's third grade class has been learning about kindness all year. They have talked about the ripple effect and boomerang effect. One of our kindness challenges was to make a picture with stickers for the Head Start class in the building. The third graders loved seeing how happy the pictures made the younger children. A week later the Head Start class came and surprised the third graders with play dough that they had made! That is the boomerang effect- when kindness comes back to you. The last project of the year was to decorate a rock and hide it somewhere for someone else to find. Finding these colorful rocks brings joy to others. This is the ripple effect! So, if you see a rock around town, you can take a picture of it and post it on Facebook to Chenango County Rocks. Then relocate it to bring joy to someone else! [...click for more]
