B-G Accepting Pre-K Applications
The Bainbridge-Guilford Central School District is accepting applications for its Pre-kindergarten program.  Only parents who are district residents with an age-eligible child may apply.  To be eligible a child must be four years old prior to December 1, 2018 and cannot be five years old before that date. Applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 to be considered for selection. Selection of applicants for the available slots will be determined soon after this date.

Per New York State Regulations, selection for Pre-kindergarten slots for the 2018-19 school year will be done randomly after all applications have been received by the deadline if more than 36 applications are received. Assuming that State funding will be held at the same level for next year as last year, we will be able to accept a total of 36 students.

Similar to last year, our program will include two full day classes. Both classes are housed in the Guilford Elementary School. Each classroom has a pre-K teacher and a classroom aide. Our program runs Monday – Friday from 8:05AM to 2:30 PM. Children may not ride school transportation until they become four years old.  Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school until their child becomes 4 years old.

The deadline for all Pre-K applications is 4:00 pm Friday, April 20, 2018.  Applications must be received at the main office of the Guilford Elementary School on or before this date. Applications may be picked up at Guilford Elementary or mailed to you upon request. For further information contact the Guilford Elementary School secretary, Kathi Ives at 895-6700.

Kindergarten Parent Information Night
There will be a Kindergarten Parent Information Night for parents of students entering kindergarten in September of 2018. This meeting will be at the Guilford Elementary School on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the Guilford cafeteria.  The purpose of this meeting is to begin the registration process and to inform parents about our Kindergarten program and the Kindergarten screening process.  You will be able to sign your child up for a screening time slot at that time.  If we do not have a copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunizations, or proof of residency on file, please bring those items for us to copy at that time. Please call 895-6700 if you have any questions.

Kinder Assembly at Guilford!
For the 2nd year, Guilford is offering a fun learning experience for the Kindergarten students through our Kinder Assembly.  Through the collaboration and support of our Kinder Team, Jen Cannistra, Keren Seiler, Lori Basso and Aides we are providing students with opportunities to learn about teamwork, cooperation, kindness, and friendship.  Our “kinders” are enjoying games and activities that reinforce character education and building a positive and healthy foundation for success.  We offer a learning experience that builds on the classroom guidance lessons provided by Mrs. Keren Seiler and encourage our “kinders” to follow the I-Care Cat Rules and Guilford Pledge.  We look forward to continuing this fun learning experience and watching our “kinders” develop the skills to be successful.
