Please be courteous and stop for buses with their red lights on and stop signs out. The opportunity for something bad to happen is incredibly high at this point. In addition, the fine is up to $500 and 5 points on your license if ticketed.

Bus Safety

It's "Back to School" time. School buses are back on the roads, and students are walking along the side of the road and waiting for buses. Please watch carefully for children near school buildings, in areas where school buses are traveling or where there are signs for school zones or bus stops. Remind your students to listen to the bus driver, follow the bus rules and safe crossing procedures.

Parents and Students – PLEASE Use crosswalks and sidewalks! DO NOT WALK between the buses. For the safety of ALL students, parents are reminded to use authorized “drop off” and “pick up” locations.

Remember that if you are approaching a school bus from either the front or behind, and it's yellow lights are flashing, the bus is preparing to stop.

If the buses red lights are flashing, YOU MUST STOP. It's the law! This includes school buses that are:

  • on the opposite sides of divided highways
  • on multiple lane roadways
  • in parking lots
  • on school grounds.

NOTE: The only exception to this law is if the bus driver or a police officer signals that you may pass the bus. Copyright 2003, NYS DMV, Office of Internet Services

Bus Rules!

Please note run times are approximate.

All times are approximate so please be ready at least 5 minutes before and keep watching for 10 minutes after your projected pick-up time. Weather, traffic, deer, students and maintenance issues can all cause variables in the schedule. We strive to be punctual and at your pick up point at the same time every day but occasionally things happen. Please be patient. Feel free to call the Bus Garage at 967-6324 if you have any questions. Have a safe and educational school year!”

Special needs bus run times are not included.

Transportation Info and Procedure!

Each bus-riding student will be permitted only one drop-off location and one alternate drop-off location in the evening. The alternate location is only to be used for half-days, emergency closing days, or in an emergency situation.

Please allow 24 hours for any transportation changes to take effect after the form is received during the school year.
