Drawing by Alexis Brown B-G Students Display Artwork at Hartwick College
Bainbridge-Guilford High School was well represented in the Hartwick College High School Art Exhibition during the month of January. Students displayed artwork in the Foreman Gallery (Anderson Center) on Hartwick College’s campus with students from other area schools. A variety of B-G artists submitted a total of 18 works of art, all fitting this year’s theme of Portraits. Their achievements were celebrated at a closing reception in the gallery.

The following students exhibited work:

Nikola Spychalski (painting [2], photography); Samara Greene (painting [2], drawing); Kenndra Ceresna, Jillian Davis, Gavin Farrell [3] (photography); Alexis Brown, Autumn Giles, Haley Morse, Cheyenne Northrup [2], Emmalynne Sherman, Hannah Sprow (drawing).

Special thanks go out to Rich Barlow of Hartwick College for organizing this year’s show.

Attention 8th Grade Students and Parents
Time is quickly approaching when your child will be entering 9th grade and taking high school credit-bearing courses.  Several activities will be taking place to help you and your child prepare to make important decisions about high school course selection and planning after high school.
On Wednesday March 7th, the Guidance Office will host an 8th grade parent information night at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.  At this meeting we will discuss requirements for graduation and what options your child has regarding selection of high school courses.
Students will be touring BOCES Harrold Campus in March.  The purpose of the field trip is for student to tour the Harrold Technical Education Center and learn about the variety of technical educational programs offered.  This visit is helpful for students when considering options for their high school four year plan.  BOCES technical educational programs are available to student during their junior and senior years of high school.
In mid-March a letter with specific dates and times that guidance counselors will be available to meet with you and your child to develop a four year plan for high school will be sent home.  Guidance staff would like to meet with each student and a parent/guardian individually to develop a four-year plan.  The purpose of this plan is to map out what courses your child will take in grades 9-12.  The four year plan is the first step in helping your child make a decision about their plans after high school.
Parental/guardian input and support is essential in helping your child realize their goals.  There will be day and evening appointments available.   Individual meetings usually last approximately one half hour.
Please contact Joanne Moxley, at 967-6320, if you have any questions.

New Marching Band Banner with creator Carole Beach B-G Music Department News
The B-G Music Department and color guard would like to extend a huge thank you to Bainbridge resident Carole Beach.  Last year Carole donated some of the materials and her time to sew an updated front banner for the marching band and color guard.  The banner is a beautiful addition to the group and compliments the new uniforms nicely.  We are grateful to Carole for her donation and proud to have it leading the B-G Blues Marching Band and Color Guard!
Attention Parents and Guardians!
