Here’s the reality about our COUNT DAY: in 2015-2016, we averaged 29,083 passes each month. So far in 2016-2017, we are averaging 40,041 passes on our survey dates. Of even greater concern is the fact that our ‘right side’ passes have escalated as well averaging over 5,000 on each Count Day.
The results for our January 2017 COUNT DAY were as follows:
• Number of respondents: 35 operations
• Number of Drivers Reporting: 878
• AM Passes: 411
• Mid-Day Passes: 2
• PM Passes: 375
• Right Side Passes: 88
When we extrapolate those numbers across 50,000 buses/drivers, that calculates out to 40,401 passes on January 19th. And it also calculates out to 5,011 right side passes, which are becoming an increasingly serious
